Introducing the Firepaw Mini Mill Gen 2: Small Dogs Deserve Serious Equipment

For years, professional canine conditioning equipment has primarily been designed around medium and large working dogs.

We believe small dogs deserve the same level of engineering.

That idea originally led us to develop the Firepaw Mini Mill. Now, after everything we have learned from the first generation, we went back to the drawing board.

The result is the Firepaw Mini Mill Generation 2 – our most advanced mechanical treadmill ever created specifically for small dogs.

More Than an Update

Generation 2 is not simply a cosmetic redesign.

We changed the construction, reduced weight, extended the running area, upgraded the moving components, improved vibration absorption and redesigned the treadmill to make transportation and storage considerably easier.

Our objective was simple:

Make a professional mechanical treadmill for small dogs that can perform like serious conditioning equipment while remaining genuinely practical for everyday use.

Bigger Running Area. More Dogs.

The new Mini Mill has a slightly longer running surface and can now accommodate dogs up to approximately 40 cm / 16 inches at the withers.

That might still sound “mini”, but it covers a surprisingly large variety of dogs.

From very small energetic breeds to Jack Russells, Beagles, Cocker Spaniels and many other compact dogs, the new dimensions significantly expand the Mini Mill’s potential applications.

Less Weight. More Possibilities.

Perhaps the most immediately noticeable change is the construction.

For Gen 2, we moved to a new lightweight, rust-resistant metal structure that allowed us to dramatically reduce unnecessary weight while maintaining the stability expected from Firepaw equipment.

And this changes much more than transportation.

At home, the treadmill becomes easier to move and store.

For trainers, it becomes easier to reposition around a facility.

And for the rapidly growing number of mobile canine gyms, the difference can be enormous.

Space inside a van is valuable. The new Mini Mill can be moved easily and stored vertically or placed on a stand when it isn’t being used, leaving valuable floor space available for other equipment.

Small Dog. Same Importance of Joint Protection.

One principle remained unchanged.

Joint protection matters.

A smaller dog doesn’t mean that vibration, repetitive impact and poor running mechanics suddenly become irrelevant.

For Generation 2, we further improved Firepaw’s vibration and shock absorption system to isolate the running movement from unnecessary vibration.

We then combined it with upgraded high-grade ceramic moving components.

The result is an exceptionally smooth mechanical system with very low resistance and extremely free movement.

The treadmill doesn’t dictate the dog’s speed.

The dog does.

Built for Real Life

Professional equipment is only useful when people can actually use it.

That is why portability and logistics became an important part of the Gen 2 development.

The new Mini Mill can be disassembled into a very compact format, making storage and transportation considerably easier.

The reduced package dimensions have also allowed us to significantly optimize worldwide shipping costs – an important improvement for a product that we ship to dog owners and professionals across the world.

Home, Gym or Van

We expect the new Mini Mill to find its place in very different environments.

For a dog owner, it provides a compact way to give an energetic small dog structured exercise regardless of weather.
